We are pleased to present a creation with Unica mirrors that makes us particularly proud. The Donizetti theatre in Bergamo, a historic place for the the Italian theatrical tradition (the foundation dates back to 1791), after the restoration work on the structure concluded in 2020, has decided to renovate the interior spaces dedicated to the actors.
The dressing room is by definition a magical space, where the metamorphosis from person to character takes place. Moreover, the focal point of a dressing room is always the mirror: it is in front of the illuminated mirror that the actor, together with make-up artists and hairdressers, sees the face of his character emerge.
The more than 30 mirrors with lights supplied by Unica to the Bergamo theatre are both standard and custom-sized, to adapt to the available spaces of the various backstage dressing rooms.

However, it is not (only) our flexibility in providing bespoke mirrors that makes Unica mirrors an ideal choice for theatres and film or television studios.
Lighting in make-up is a crucial aspect, because it strongly affects the result of the make-up. On the one hand, it must not produce heat (which causes sweating), on the other hand, the quality of the light must guarantee a high color rendering index and a color temperature similar to that of natural light. Otherwise, the risk is to “falsify” the make-up, which will then appear very different.
